What Is A Frequency table

A frequency table is a table that shows you the number of pieces of data that fall with in intervals. Intervals are the difference between successive values on a scale.

How to create a frequency table:


  1. create a table with as many columns as you need and 3 rows
  2. Label those columns in this order; "Name of what you're representing"(Example: Number of Baseball Cards), next tallies, last Frequency.
  3. In the First column you make intervals for your data. (Example: 0-24 25-49, etc.)
  4. In the second column you make the tallies for what data lies in between the intervals
  5. In the third column you write the number of tallies you got'
  6. You keep the data, or you can make a histogram with it.
